Our consultants - lecturers at a seminar in Bansko

Consultants from Fortis Visio were lecturers at a seminar on “The role of municipalities in waste management under the Waste Management Act”. The seminar, held in Bansko on 14.03.2013, was attended by representatives of local authorities involved in waste-related activities. The seminar addressed the obligations of municipalities in waste management at local level. The Waste Management Act, which entered into force on 13 July 2012, for the first time introduces obligations for municipalities to achieve the national waste management targets. Municipalities will play a leading role in achieving the targets for re-use and recycling of municipal waste (at least 50% of the total weight of waste by 2020), for limiting the landfilling of municipal waste (at most 35% of the total weight for the base year 1995) and for re-use, recycling and recovery of non-hazardous construction waste (at least 70% of its total weight).
